hey Jude, don't make it bad

For a very affordable price, Ravioli offers a different kind of ravioli, pasta, and pizza. Made with fresh ingredients (yes, even the noodles are so nicely done), its food has less oil compared to other Italian restos. I went with my friends last night (Ila, Taps, Rica and Aldrin) at its MOA Branch but I first tried it with ate Fra (my dear roommate) at its Rob Manila Branch just a few weeks ago :)

I finished the entire series at exactly 8.30 pm of this very day. After a week long of running, surviving, birds, and keeping Peeta Mellark alive, I can’t get over the horrible ending. I can’t call it a happily ever after, though in some parts it may did. I don’t know if this would contain any spoiler or anything, I just had to let this all out. The number one reason why I like it was because it centered on a heroine. It was like reading a female version of Harry Potter. They both had minds that worked similarly. The most important thing for them was to keep their loved ones safe although on their part there is extreme danger at the expense of their lives. They didn’t want to be manipulated although their leadership skills actually sucked but in the end their instincts always saved everyone’s asses. They blamed themselves for the lives lost. The gravity of their responsibility inflicted upon them tortured them as it involved keeping their loved ones safe and hundreds or thousands of innocent lives. Although they did not want any attention, everyone was pressuring them as they both are ‘The Chosen Ones’. They both sucked at showing interest for the opposite sex. They’re brave and courageous, ready to die any moment and everyone was ready to die for them. There were more numerous similarities between the two I can’t list. It was just that every time I turn the page, I see Harry in Katniss so much. You get the point.

The ending? I’d like to believe Collins went insane with Mockingjay especially the ending. She did it in haste. It seemed she really did. I could not get her point. For Katniss to miss the final action? So I praise Collins for having the guts to kill Prim, but the effects on Katniss, was quite not her. And maybe that was the writer’s point I guess. That she would never be the same after the tragic death of her sister. But come on, she was stronger than that. Collins underestimated Katniss, that was what it looked like to me. And to Gale to just disappear to be a celebrity or something? WTF. I love Peeta, and I liked how they both ended up together, however, his character became  very weak and less appealing to me. He came so strong for the first two books and again, Collins underestimated his character and for what? To introduce Coin and Boggs and the whole Capitol-like District 13? I thought it would be so much better if District 13 did not really exist. An uprising yes, but District 13 no. Collins should have thought of another way how Katniss would kill Snow so that the rebels would overthrow the Capitol. Something much more exciting and thoroughly thought of because that was what the trilogy was about, being daring and dangerous. I DISLIKE DISTRICT 13 and how Gale’s became one of them.

What I really love about the trilogy was its exceptional story plot. It was different. No fantasies, sci-fi, etc. It was so realistic you could feel it could become our future. Survival of the fittest. Post-apocalyptic. Sweeping of humanity. How the characters had their own capabilities and strengths as well as weaknesses. I would have to say Peeta was my favorite character and not because of the lovey dovey relationship with Katniss, but because he was always the one who knows how to handle or face mishaps and  tragedy, acceptedit whole-heartedly. That kind of character is very strong to me. I guess he just made me fall for him for his use of words. Also, how the series played my emotions amazed me I had read numerous novels, only the Harry Potter series made me surrender to my emotions. Until I read The Hunger Games. Now there’s two.

That is pretty much everything I could sum up. I had so many thoughts going in and out of my mind while reading the series, this is all I could remember.
